Türk Komandosu Figürü

Foundation of commando units within Turkish Armed Forces dates back to mid-1920’s. In Turkish Land Forces, commandos serve both as an infanty and as special operations force. Along with that, commando units within Gendarme forces were formed in order to effectively tackle terrorist activities, Against internal or extrernal armed threats directed against the country, these units, serving under extraordinary conditions with super human effort under a modern command system, constitute the first and the most effective line of defence. Successful activities of commandos in 1974 Turkish Peace Operation in Cyprus and in the fight against terrorist activities since 1970 proves this.

This unique figure has been, researched, designed and produced by a qualified team of experts after intensive and meticulous work.

For the pose, a picture published in the daily Turkish newspaper Günaydın in year 1989 have been taken as reference. This photo below shows a commando soldier, returning from a days long operation in very tough conditions. This was the pose we took as starting point.
